FAQ
got a question? we'll answer it
Laser hair removal treatments work using a concentrated beam of light aimed directly at the hair follicles. The light is absorbed by the pigments in the hair – which is why laser hair removal works best on dark hair. This damages the follicles, inhibiting future growth over the course of multiple laser hair removal sessions.
Laser hair reduction provides more permanent results compared to other forms of hair removal such as waxing. Laser hair removal will save you money and effort in the long run. It is a short-term commitment for long term results and will provide at least 80-90% permanent hair reduction after a course of treatments. Unlike other methods, such as waxing, tweezing and threading, there is no need to regrow hair prior to treatments and therefore clients can always be hair free. Laser can provide a long-term solution to ingrown hair, red bumps and can reduce the symptoms of PCOS and folliculitis.

Yes if performed by laser specialists – we carry out thorough consultations and patch tests to ensure safety. We often get asked is there any link between laser hair removal and cancer and can confirm that there is no known research to suggest that there is a link. Additionally there is no known research to suggest it affects fertility or harm to an unborn baby. We simply do not treat any clients who are pregnant due to the ineffectiveness of the treatment due to hormonal imbalances when pregnant.
Slight discomfort can be expected during treatments and if anything, the client may feel a warm prickly sensation which means the laser is working. Our machine has an incorporated cooling system which provides a numbing effect to ensure clients have a comfortable experience.
For optimal results with laser hair reduction, we recommend a series of 8-10 treatments, spaced appropriately to target hair during its growth cycle. This typically achieves an 80-90% permanent reduction in unwanted hair, leaving your skin smooth. Factors such as genetics, hormonal changes, and individual hair growth patterns can influence the results and may require additional treatments. To maintain your results and address any minimal regrowth, we suggest scheduling top-up sessions every 6-12 months. These maintenance treatments ensure long-term effectiveness and help you enjoy consistently smooth skin.
Any hairs that we kill during laser treatments are permanently killed and cannot re-grow. However any future hormonal changes or genetic factors may result in future growth of new hairs and therefore top up sessions are required. Typically we would suggest a top up once every 6-12 months for clients who do not have a hormonal imbalance. Clients with a hormonal imbalance may require top ups sooner if new hair growth appears.
Face – once every 4-6 weeks. Other areas of the body will be treated at 4-12 weeks intervals depending on gender, what specific area is being treated and your general hair growth styles. When you are having laser, only a follicle in the active growth stage will be treated. This means that only some of the hair is destroyed during each single session and explains the need for a course of laser treatments to target all hairs.
